How Long Does It Take to Become Proficient in AI?

AI is one of the fields that genuinely takes longer, due to the dual math-and-programming foundation it requires.

• Python basics + working math: two to three months.
• Classical machine learning (scikit-learn, basic models): two more months.
• Deep learning and specialization (computer vision or NLP, say): three to four more months.

The realistic total for initial proficiency (able to build and ship a real project) is usually 8-12 months of serious commitment. Any promise of mastering AI in a few weeks isn't realistic.
